Dr. Steven Stanton is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Oakland University. He worked at Duke University as a research scientist and instructor prior to joining the faculty at Oakland University. At Duke University, he maintained interdisciplinary research and teaching appointments in the Fuqua School of Business, Center for Interdisciplinary Decision Science, Center for Cognitive Neuroscience and the Department of Psychology. Dr. Stanton earned his PhD in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has multiple years of experience delivering classes in executive education programs. His research focuses on the intersection of psychology and business, with a specific interest in consumer behavior, decision making (and decision biases), and social behavior. Dr. Stanton has authored over 30 academic journal articles and book chapters, and he has also presented his research at numerous domestic and international conferences. Dr. Stanton's research has been featured in television, radio and print outlets including the New York Times, National Public Radio, CNN, Newsweek, The Atlantic, and Scientific American.
